An annual tradition starting this year, the winter party is a celebration for characters at the Promenade Hall.

Since it's a Christmas party, guests traditionally bring presents for everyone else - although they don't have to be expensive if you don't want them to be. Sing a song, make mince pies or brew up potions to turn people's hair blue - think outside the box!

The party isn't costumes-required, not that anyone will stop you if you want to come in disguise. :>

Is there any "protocol" (as in waiting until a certain time, and/or depositing all gifts in a heap and people get to look for theirs, if it's not a "same for all" deal) about the exchanging gifts part, and, if there is, have guest been told beforehand?

No there isn't. The invitations make the "gifts can be anything" angle explicit.

Baskerville hopes his will be popular. *eg*

The girls cooked up bottled surprises *blinks*.

I forgot to mention: The thought of a sooty Lord Suitov Iceheart of Applestone lying on the floor laughing his rear off is... utterly indescribable, but in a good way. XD

There may be a place inside the hall to put presents. Or there can not be. Up to everyone else. ;>

If nothing else presents itself, Nico will suggest putting stuff next to the piano. :P

I hope some of us can actually play. XD I mean, there will be hired musicians a little while later because this is a dance party, but the point of the piano is for anyone to sit down and have a bash at the ivories.

I know Sylvie can't.

Nico... I think she's tried to learn at some point, but had no real talent for it. If she had known well beforehand there would be a piano, she could have practised a piece or two to a passable level, but as it is, her playing would be awkward for anyone present. Unless, say, Baskerville goes first, she won't play. :P

Editing my last post - had thought Sylvie's hair was chestnutty, not red! (ie Weft meant Jaina)

It's probably a problem with language on my part... Is there a difference between "chestnut" and "dark red", when talking about natural haircolours? :P

Oh no, I don't think you've ever said chestnut (I checked on Twine earlier today) - it's that I have a vague mental image of her from your pics, and I remembered the hair as darkish brown.

I wondered if I should have said "chestnut" instead of "dark red". :-)

It says "Cardinal" on the marker I used. XD

It's this sort of jacket, but this sort of hat (white, gold crest shaped like nothing in particular - she probably used a gold coin).

(alternative jacket/costume pic if the first link doesn't work)

I wasn't going to throw her in yet, but she made me!

Re hairz: Here's some chart I just Googled up. Pretty much agrees with what I mentally picture chestnut hair looking like.

Mine's dark brown. It doesn't have that reddish tint. (It's also strawlike and split-endy, but that's just because of my lovely medical regime. XD )

If you needed her to cut off Swiff's answer, that was him making you throw her in; a simple "no" would have done ;)

I might have been looking for "auburn".

The cutting off was an afterthought, but one I stand by. Mwaha. ;>

No, he's not. :P

I see two ways this cold go: Either Nico soon reminds Suitov of the question, or she'll forget until she sees Weft the next time and asks him directly...

...
Y'know, if you read the current party posts more or less directly after a story or two relating to date rape drugs, they're really, really creepy. o_O
