Before Nico could either clear up or confuse matters, Kinta asked the winged one, "Do you like listening to music, or making it?"

Azra approached the trapped singer as quietly as she could, stopping next to the trap-plant looking down at him.

What kind of question was that. "I like singing?" the gryphon said, blinking muddy eyes.

The bottled up angel had just been about to sing the last lines, akin to And you will not find me... and... something, something. "No use," he sighed and looked up.

The sight of someone there startled him. "Oh... hello," he said, eyes wide.

Nico seemed thrilled. "Ooooh! Do you know 'Elfroaster's Kitchen'? It's been ages since I found someone to take turns as it's meant to be sung."

Daaren seemed to be wishing to be somewhere else.

Azra waved and after s short pause asked, "Are you fine down there? Otherwise I could either drop your lyre, if you're missing that. Or maybe try to get you out." Distorted or not, she did sound amused.

"I don't sing for free," the gryphon said firmly, totally missing the title. He drank some more. "Now I go get more to drink."

He did, too.

The angel smiled momentarily and looked down. "I'm not hurt." He rubbed the fabric of his clothes between his fingers and glanced up again. His smile had disappeared, so he summoned one up again. "If you can get me out of here, I will gladly play the lyre for you, if that was to your liking."

"No, I haven't," Lamia said disappointedly. "We should return with cutlery. Oh, but it sounds like Azura" (she got the name accidentally wrong) "found our prey. Anyone injured or dead over there?" she called in their direction.

"I don't always have wardrobes either," Thiggie said. "I spend parts of the year living out of a suitcase - business travel, you know, for, uh, business. Gives a girl a fitting appreciation for non-crease fabrics, travel irons and late-night fullonicae. And not all my clothes are as fun as this nurse number."

She too was being careful with the juice. Purplish red splashes and white cotton just didn't go.

"Don't feel obliged, I just thought you might feel comfortable where you are." Azra walked around the trap and pulled down one of the thick vines that covered the wall.

Then she heard Lamia calling, and yelled back, "Not yet," before lowering the makeshift rope into the trap.

Ebani did get loose again, even without leaving the glove behind.

"I think there's enough room to squeeze past that tree there. Would you prefer to go first, or may I?"

The angel laughed and grabbed the vine, tugging it lightly to see if his grip would hold. "Thank you. It's not that bad here. Too slick."

Azra made a noncommittal sound. She held on so that the vine couldn't lie flat on the ground beyond the rim of the trap, but it still was rooted. It should hold.

It looked as if his grip would hold, and so after another tentative tug the angel (not stranger to climbing ropes or vines) began to climb up the wine. It wasn't a terribly difficult climb either, and just knowing that he was going to be out of the plant made the angel very happy.

Someone had different ideas, however. Certainly the vine's roots should have held - if it had been a naturally grown one, not one moved there from a pot recently.

"Whoop?" was all the angel managed, eyes wide. And not only because he was falling again.

Azra lost her footing as well. She did try not to elbow the angel in the stomach or something of the kind.

"Sorry," she said as she got off the angel, "I didn't mean to jinx it." She really should have realised those plants weren't rooted that deeply. Silly, really, but for a moment she had to work on stifling laughter. "Are you still all right?"

"Go on, knock yourse-- what was that?" Lamia asked, tilting her head at the slithery thump.

Jinx? He was shaking. But it was silent laughter, that much was obvious. "I'm all right. I hope you had a soft landing," he said with a faint wince. Or was it a grin, or a mixture of the two?

The dragon looked out of one of the windows for a moment, snorted, shook his head and licked his plate.

"Why, yes, thank you." Azra didn't feel like apologising. She stood, carefully, and offered the angel a hand up. The ground wasn't quite as bad as the walls, so it worked if she didn't make too sudden movements.

"So, shall we wait for the next aspiring hero - though it'll get really crowded for three people in here - or would you be willing to try giving me a leg up?"

Ebani meanwhile took a bit of time bypassing the web. There was room enough between two trees and two bushes to squeeze through, but he tried to push some branches out of the way so they'd stay there, having the impression that Lamia's hair would be likely to cause some trouble if it got caught.

"Sure I'll give you a boost," the angel said, wondering about the footing. "Or try to." He tugged at a strand of hair and got to it. It was damned boring here.

Lamia saw three leafy things clustered around the artificial stream, one of the former being broken in such a way as to resemble a trap-door. She had an inkling what had occurred here, especially when she saw parts of Azra appear at the top.

"What you youngsters do for kicks," the dreadlocked mop said very sweetly, glancing down inside the overgrown sarracenia. "Need a hand?" She looked for a secure footing.

"I'll try not to kick your face in. Just a moment..." She took off the gloves for a better grip. When Lamia offered help she had managed to get one hand over the edge of the plant, and raised the other. "Thank you."

There was a small jerk as the edge of the plant wher Azra gripped it detached from the earth around it. That hadn't been planned, but folding it down would make getting the angel out easier.

There it was, someone calling him a youngster again. He felt positively rejuvenated. Oh yes. Like a babe. Truth to be told, he would have felt embarrassed if he hadn't been certain someone would come. But so, there were... how many? "A vine again?"

Lamia was somewhat petite, and wearing impractical shoes, but with the three of them together Azra was soon on moderately firmer ground.

"You want we should leave Angelface down there, Blue?" she asked in a rather cute gangster voice, after a quick look to check where Ebani was.

"That might be amusing on some scale," suggested the voice from the pit.
