Something I've been pondering:

If the Mercies were ever employed to kill Nico, and succeeded, would that be the end of their contract? Would there be a matter of professional pride if she turned up alive again?

That is an interesting question.

Normally, whatever I kill stays dead or I'm in serious trouble.

Come to think of it, if "you" showed up again after being killed, I'd be told you must be a demon.

We could convince them you were a distant relative, I'm sure. Or even that you come from a place where everyone looks the same.

That would be particularly fun.

Only if you add "and shares the same memories", otherwise it'd get too confusing in the long run.

It gets awfully confusing when you consider I'd need to know that I'd run into them again, and that that might lead to trouble, so I would need a cover story BEFOREHAND... I mean, I wouldn't neccessarily even know one of them killed me.

Let's just kill them all and disband their order, then. Simplest way.
