All the more reason to surprise him! Who doesn't like a surprise party in their honour?

As long as it doesn't involve their beheading or somesuch.

Nico, how many of your own beheadings and weddings have you attended?

Five I can think of right now.
... Nine, if you count the ones that didn't really work. One was actually kind of funny; the executioner was terribly drunk.

Why?

Out of weddings and beheadings, which ones tended to be more painful, short term and long?

Beheadings, definitely. Slightly worse hangover after some weddings, way more annoying long term problems after beheadings.

I wonder whether Sebbie would agree.

I've never... well, never been invited personally to a wedding. *disconcerting smirk* Executions, that's classified. No successful ones.

You are invited this time. As Best Man, sorta; I can't think of a better candidate.

Oh no, see, I wasn't angling for an invitation. I was making subtle reference to all the times I've crashed weddings to 'make last-minute adjustments to the guest list'.

Best... is that the one who has to marry the bride if the groom doesn't... good grace, no. *twitch*

It wasn't sublte. *grin*

You're invited, anyway.

Well, father of the bride is out of the question, bridesmaid probably you don't want, so regular guest it is.

Nico, would you stop and think for just a minute?

What?

...

*sigh* OK, Weft, I'm sure you guessed, but just to be certain: it was a joke.

But let me stress that if I was involved in the planning of any kind of surprise party for Sebastian, I'd definitely want to invite you, because you just can't go around having surprise parties and leaving out bestest pals.

Oh, Nico. I was expecting you to spin it out much further before you caved. You hadn't even asked my opinion on the flowers yet.

If I'm anyone's bestest pal, I pity that person unreservedly. *smirk*

(For the record, I don't know all that much about flowers. If you wanted ornamental fish, on the other hand, I know a brother who knows a guy...)

See, you're such a fragile kitten, there's never any telling what will make you break down and cry. :(

...I dispute that in the strongest possible terms, and my eyes, you'll note, are quite dry.

*mutters something about it must be that time of the month for Nico*

I don't. ^_^
