PS: New Offspring album single is most excellent! The video for it is so cool too!

"I'm on a roll
With all the girls I know.
His baby's mama
Need never know.
I'm on a roll
With all the girls I know.
I know you wana hit that.
I kinow you wana hit that, hit that."

"What was a family
Is now his shell.
We're raising kids now
who raise themselves..."

Oh, not to worry, my hackles are raised and I've spent the last 3 days gathering evidence. Tuesday and Wednesday a few traps will be set. I'd rather just fire her but then I'd have this whole hassle with the Unemployment Office and damned if I'm going to allow her to collect unemployment after stealing from me. Sooo, we must have our evidence, yes yes, we must have our evidence that points straight at one little skinny rat, with a fat purse bulging with pilferage coinage. What frightens me is that I'm certain there's way more than what I know about. Why can't you trust people?

On a happy note, the zoo was wonderful with lots of free food and games for the kidlet. Today we're off to the Stock Show to look at some more animals. To bad the poultry barn will be empty this year - avian flu is keeping them away.

I wrote this. (May have been edited since, o'course.) Woo!
My first Wikipedia article, and it's about... poodles.

Rina, how's the thief-catching?

Poodles are typically what?!

My great grandmother had a poodle that used to lick its own shadow on the wall... That dog was loopy. Seriously. Disturbed. Dude.

Traps been sprung!
Will have to wait patiently to see if bait was taken.....

The poodle is the national dog of France.....

*blinks*

That might explain a few things......

Trap sprung.
Thief caught.
She didn't say a word when confronted, just handed me her office key and walked out.

Somebody really needs to explain to me why I feel so bad about this. It's not like I ordered her to steal the money!

Hey, I know the feeling. Two city slicker kids were pushing sleds down the stairs here, and after I went to talk to them, the other one just went on playing while the other ones shuffled away in a depressed manner.

Damn that felt bad.

Victory! Don't feel bad. It was her choice.

How'd you catch her out?

Cream cakes!!!
*pounces*

She was foiled by a "mystery shopper". In this case, the mystery shopper just happened to be a very good friend who is also a lawyer (turned super spy!). She came in and bought some flea stuff for her cat's imaginary fleas, paid cash, made sure to mention that she didn't need her reciept, but made very certain she could positively ID the person who took her money. And the next day I just trolled through the deposit report and day sheet and guess what wasn't there! My Office Manager says she is now officially frightened of my diabolical mind. *re* Oh please. She has no idea! Of course I had also made sure that the day before I had fanned any flames there were by mentioning that the next conference I'm going to is in Annaheim, so of course we have to take a few extra days off to take Stephanie back to DisneyLand. Oh yeah, and I think I mentioned something about buying a new car.....and the Office Manager let slip that I paid cash for the last car I bought (which would be more impressive if the vehicle in question wasn't a Saturn and the money hadn't come from the insurance settlement from the wreck that totaled out the car I was replacing)

Sooooo, confronted employee. Got big wide eyes and stutters. No admission of guilt though. No denial either which I thought was quite interesting.

Since I wasn't having quite enough fun yet, I rounded off the day by doing reviews and giving another employee a good talking to over his attendance. Got the same wide-eyed-whatever-do-you-mean look that I'd gotten from the receptionist.

Really, it would be comical if it wasn't so disgusting.

Thankfully I get free coffee and biscuits, so I don't have to answer to anyone when they ask me what happened to it all... *Halo.* Urrr.

Now see, at this point, if my dad were here, his reply would be something along the lines of:

''But if, when you walked down the streets, people were hanging from lamposts with boards round their necks saying THIEF this sort of thing would just disappear.''

He claims to be a socialist.

Well done Rina! That was superlatively sly and super sleuth-some.

*everyone puts up umbrellas to protect them from the spray*

Ever thought of a change in career? Watch enough CSI and you could be in there!

Oh, Wilton was excellent *resists temptation to mention sea going vess-el* in Calendar Girls. Really funny.

Hmmm... Pullman. Liked the books. As for religion, I don't think I'd like one that wasn't organised...

But that's another issue.

CBE is, er, I dunno. It's an honour of some description. MBE is Member of the British Empire, and OBE is Order of ditto. And I think there's KBE=Knight. I don't know which is 'best'.
