The ducks! That looks like the same family of ducklings Stephanie fed a couple of weeks ago when we were down there.

Did ya go to the Alamo too?

***begin shameless begging now***

As you probably already know, Hurricane Katrina was very unkind to Louisanna and Mississippi recently. There are hundreds of thousands of storm refugees in Texas at the moment, many of them are in Houston, and they will be here for a while. Many of them came from New Orleans, and frankly, there is no New Orleans left for them to go back to.

My staff and I are collecting donations to feed and care for the displaced pets and their humans. If any of you kind squirrels have an extra 50 cents to spare, there are sure a bunch of folks who could use it. We have been buying basic necessities - diapers, toothbrushes, soap, etc. These folks have lost everything, including family members to the hurricane and flooding.

The American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, The United Way are all taking donations, as is my tiny little animal clinic. So please look in your piggy banks. You can send a donation to my office via paypal (slac@ev1.net) and 100% of the donated funds will be used to buy food and supplies for these people.

We'll even send you a nifty cyberhug in return. This is me, doing my famous Ms. Piggy imatation:
"kissy, kissee."

***End shameless begging***

And along that same line, my posting will continue to be minimal for a while as I'll be busy doing my SuperWoman routine, but the new board sounds very fun and I will jump in when I can.

Then, Laura's sauna in Joutsa was wood-heated, which was much more pleasant. The heat was somehow softer, and it wasn't as tempramental since it didn't fluctuate in heat or humidity as much as the one in Helsinki.

You put it so well!

I'm a "hard-core Finn" according to Laura, since I wanted to go to sauna in the mornings too!

The wood-heated stuff and the vasta was really lovely though.

Are you a bit of a sauna junky too, Snog? I'm sure whether the whole nation is as obsessed with it as Laura.

I'd go to the sauna every day if I could. :p It makes showers so much more comfortable for me.

Sauna! That reminds me! I'm going to Finland! *Sly look at Snog* You going to let me come wisit you? I'll bring English prezzies... Though come to think of it, you'll have to tell me what to bring that you can't get in Finland. That goes for you too, Candy and Bunny. Anything (within reason) that you fancy from ol' Blighty, just gimme a shout.

I have recently been discovering the joys of the 1.4x play on Windows Media Player, which I almost never use. Try Familiar through that. It makes me sound almost good!

Oh, that's a point, I still haven't uploaded the fix wersion of that! I'll do that soon, promise.

You're all bishies! *runs away*

Hehe, Slen is playing at being a Jonny-come-lately with his trip to Finland that I'VE ALREADY DONE! Rzzpt!

I'm in my new house! Wahoo!

My room is huge! It's so large! Massive! There's actually so much space left, after some rearrangement of furniture, that when my parents come down next weekend they're bringing my bookcase and a small sofa bed!

However, shower isn't brilliant and it can get very cold. And it doesn't have a sauna :-(

Dates, man, give us dates. Like I said I can probably move around more freely on my school break, but other times it's just weekends since I have daily classes.

(Also I may ask you to bring me the soundtrack of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, because it may not be published here at all, but that's not sure yet. ^^; )

My blog just got SO much snazzier!

It's amazing what lengths I'll go to in order to avoid doing lab work.

I never thought it would be Mutt to comment on the one thing that hadn't changed!

I was referring to the new guestbook, counter (in Spanish!!!) and media player which are there... although I took the media player off again cos it stopped working.

Did he have a good journey?
