"I want to see the Slayer burn!" And also... "Are we feeling hurt by their evil eye?"
Whose evil eye? And who let it out of its socket?
"Aye, you done good, laddy. Now you know what you have to do. Burn them. Burn them all!" </Leprachaun>
On my way back from early shift at work this morning, I passed a middle-aged man painting the library building in St Peter's Square, by the tram stop. He was amazing and a bunch of other people had stopped to watch him too. He told someone he'd been there in the mornings, for the light, for a couple of weeks.
What I found particularly amusing was that he'd put a few pigeons in the picture. Those birdies hang around the war memorial - actually I think some of them are veterans, because I always see one or two with missing toes or limps - and stare at passers-by in a "Food?" sort of way.
And play games of dodge with the trams, which is an alternative explanation for all the injuries, but I've never seen a town pigeon get hit by any form of human transport. These are wily birds, I tells ya. They know when you're only fake-grabbing at them. *does not tease them, really...*
'Round here I think I see about one pigeon per week flattened after being hit by a car or bus. And sometimes you have to slow down to avoid stepping on them. Seems like yours are less stupid.
I don't know this first-hand, but London pigeons are meant to be even brighter. I mean like the ones around Unseen University. XD There are more of them, so I suppose evolutionary pressure is moulding them into lean, mean wily winged-rats.
Maybe squidgeons are slower in the cold? Like inverse trolls? Inverse wily wingèd rat-trolls?
Is it colder in Germany than in the UK?
Sometimes. Every time I've been there, which is several, but now I come to think of it, those times were mostly around November.
Suppose it depends whereabouts in Germany the squidgeons are. London's quite hot though, being cityish.
Or maybe they're the same as the trolls. *nodnod*
Or maybe they're nothing to do with trolls, but that would just be silly, wouldn't it?
*shuts up*
Yes, pigeons clearly consist of stone. They are grey. Must be some kind of troll.
(Did you read The Art Of Discworld? Pterry mentioned that way-back-when he made up a troll society, including troll-ducks. They walked around on the ground of ponds.)

All Dead All Dead

All Dead

All Dead...
Antelope?
Woo. Hi all. Got ickily tied up for a couple of days. Where do I need to post?
Through the ring of fire.
And so forth.
Cowabunga!
We may be heading west for a few days to get out of the way of Hurricane Rita. We will probably head to San Antonio. I'll wave and blow kisses to Churn as we go by the Airforce base. :-)
Last week we were all about helping the refugees. Who knew that this week we may become one.
On a brighter note, the female leopard gecko laid a couple of eggs this week. They won't hatch though. The first egg I saw her roll over ... can't do that to reptile eggs, the embryo drowns. The second will probably suffer from lack of heat if the power goes off should the storm hit us as expected. Yes, I'll evacuate the live critters, but not an egg.
I've packed the laptop. I'll try to keep you all posted. Ah, life on the road .... *wanders off whistling Willie Nelson tune "On the road again..."*
Yikes. Good luck!
Have a safe journey Rina!
Come visit?
I'll put you up for the night, though mine's only a one bedroom...
