*cries*
Ferrets? *cries because she misses Simon*
Slen meant http://www.puppybreak.com. (I refuse to link to the other one, as it's evil evil evil!)
Yes, there was a guy who did ferrets, though the link seems to be gone so perhaps he stopped. Maybe one of them bit him?
Ok, I think every single one of those lines had me in tears. For different reasons.
Well said, that woman!
Can't believe I'm agreeing with Anne Atkins. *g*
Actually, I saw a film at university showing a similar situation in Mexico.
Whilst the over-riding storyline was something of a South-American Road Trip, there was also a lot of very interesting slices of life in Mexico, one of which was this "Close, dude, but not that close" attitude. Consequently, the most commonly used word between the two main characters, Julio and Tenoch, was "jue" : "dude". For their relationship alone, it was worth squirming through some rather dodgy scenes.
Of course, it had an added edge in this case. I'm informed by a third year CAS student that lots of things in Mexico have never gone out of fashion: drink driving and corrupt government being on podiums three and two, homophobia taking the gold.
Dude, I wana watch that movie again. *Adds it to amazon.co.uk wishlist*
-Jinx!
-Je ne joue pas!
etc.
The Incredibles is btw a fairly accurate summation.
And I've seen what's so great about Alexander.
I've been campaigning to this end for a while now in the royal gerbil lineage of Pezziedom.
What do folks think? Is selection by sex a helpful criterion in the profession of hand-waving and monument-opening?
If you can work your way round the split paragraphs... (I just copy-pasted the whole thing and shunted them around until they worked.)
In these times when everyone, fundie Christian and fundie Muslim, is desperately trying to be the underdog, a moderate Christian makes her case rather more convincingly.
I refuse to read "moderate Christian" post right now, having spent all weekend around them and become utterly sick of them. Why is everyone so scared to believe anything that's even slightly offensive to others? I mean, gees, it's like... ARGH!
*shuts up before she offends anyone*
I will read it later though, dahling Mutt.
There's moderation in belief, and there's moderation in behaviour. One of these is entirely personal and doesn't affect others - which, by definition, means you're free to do as you like. In the other case, sadly we have to live with others...
But then you just modified your own behaviour ("shuts up before she offends anyone"), which tells me you're somewhat aware of the difference. *g*
