Tonberry(sp? *innocently, as though zie has no idea what one of these is cos has never seen FF HONEST*)

and big, feature-stuffed dollmaker!
For those who haven't played with dolls before, these are things that construct sprites of your characters (provided said characters are THIN, of course) with accessories and hair and eyes and stuff. They're like Heromachine: good if you can form a mental image of your character but can't draw.

Text adventure games!
I haven't played them, but this is the '04 IFComp, so the quality will be mixed but there will probably be some fairly astounding ones.

Comp04.zip is the one you want, if you have all the interpreters already. (If not, everything you need is on the page.) File size, 'cause it doesn't tell you on the page: 21.5 MB. Almost defeated by my conenction's 2-hour cutoff. 56k sucks, man. *g*

Combining my two favourite things: coffee and church! I don't think I would complain if St. John's got a Coffee Republic installed (since they use Fair Trade and are more reasonably-priced than Starbucks. Also, they do these incredible hot milky stuff and you can add shots of caramel goop and espresso *drools*)!

The thing that strikes me about Judaism (and I'm sure Simon will correct me if I'm wrong) is that, since the Old Testament was written for a very specific situation that God's people were in (ie. post-Exodus), many of the laws are specific to it. So now, over 2000 years later, whilst the spirit of the law is still very much valid, the letter of the law can't be upheld in the same way. So often, they have to extrapolate what's been written to cover every situation.

I know that sounds very similar.... there's a subtle difference there that I'm trying to explain but I lack the, uh, thingy.

*prepares for an ear-bashing*

So why does "emancipation" contain the word man? Surely it should be, I dunno, emyncypytyn? Hey, guess what feminists have in common with goths?

Anyway, more fairness and diversity for all (sane male non-slaves of the right race) here.

Ree and Julia especially may be interested in this story about Christian music.

Question: are clean lyrics (not actively denying one's deity, not encouraging immoral behaviour) enough, or is it necessary for music actually to affirm religious beliefs in order for it to be acceptable?

I listen to the music I like, but I find it more helpful to listen to Christian lyrics that will be encouraging. I've had Newsboys on repeat for two days, and I've actually noticed a difference in the way I feel and think.

Besides, what's so bad about Steven Curtis Chapman? I go back even further with Wes King and Michael Card! Ha!
