Meeza Shlain!
Writing this from a public computer in a Reykjavik youth hostel. This computer is supposed to cost me lots of money, (especially since Iceland is teh expensive) but I managed to get on it for free, taking adwantage of a staff error... La lala...
We're going swimming in a hot Icelandic spring, in the cold Icelandic rain. (Itīs rained every day so far: This is the result of a good weather forecast!)
Anyway, mum's telling me to hurry up OVER AND OVER AND... anyway. She says "HALLO EVERYBODY" in that tone of voice.
Right, going to some random Botanical Gardens now. Byebye.
Babycakes! Hope you're having fun. Check your mobile.
I forgot to mention.
I'm now an official Microsoft Access Expert. :D *waves certificate*
Whoo Hoo!
Does that make you the spawn of evil?
Spawn?
Spawn, darlin'?
Evil is my beyotch.
I'm visiting my grandmother tonight and my father tomorrow night. Only one of them is in a care home, but I don't yet know which will be more coherent.
Oh, nasty.
Lookie, Simon!
Well, my gran's dozing anaesthetised in hospital after falling and dislocating her shoulder. So it's looking hopeful for dad.
Sorry to hear she's injured. Will she be ok?
Yes, they think so. I visited her last night - she was zonked out from the anaesthetic, but they'd popped the shoulder back in earlier that day and said she was doing well but "a bit confused".
I asked all the questions I could think of, and they've got her meds, etc. I imagined the home would be on the ball about such things, but doesn't hurt to check. The home, however, did not call my home phone to let me know, opting instead to inform a relative in the South of England (that's 200+ miles away, whereas I'm about an hour's public transport journey away, BUT ANYWAY!).
Sorry to hear about your Gran. Hope she recovers quickly.
Maybe you should have a review of the emergency contact list for your family at the home. And it NEVER hurts to double check on the nursing care relatives are getting. Pester 'em to death. Be a pain in the ass. Make sure they are doing their jobs. That's what I learned when my father was in the hospital.
That's something I thought I'd never see! My father using... public transport?
That was really fun. My dad came by after work and we got the tram a couple of stops to the Printworks, and went to the Hard Rock. And pretty much nattered non-stop.
I really miss him, you know.
Slen, you remember the really nice beanpole who used to work for Dad? He's in hospital too. Heart valve operation. Going home in the next few days. Man, but open heart surgery is amazing to hear about... If Dad remembers to send me his number I'm calling him tomorrow.
*wishes grandmother well*
*makes plans to consult the hound on evil access project*
Churn!
*pouncehuggle*
Aren't heart operations fascinating though? Nowhere close to genetics, but still, better than pins in the eyes.
And I hope you told him so. Dads like hearing that sort of thing.
I did tell him that. :D "Isn't it a fantastic area to work in" or something similar, I said. Course, one of his relations is in fact a heart surgeon, so dad knows a bit about it.
*delightedly* Churniepie! Churniekins! Churniewerhnieverhnie... etc. Ask away about the dreaded Access.
Hehehheh....
You know not what you are offering.
*starts list*
I despise access. So much that I was gonna just try'n write an acceptable database app in C. The old C. Not C sharp or C double-plus. Sounded kinda fun, actually, but buggin you might be faster.
*murbles*
I'm kinda suprised I was missed that much. Or maybe it's just fun moniker-mangling.
Ze Countessa misses you dear boy. She so enjoys having fresh buns to pinch.....
Wellll... you know. How could I not miss my official stalkee and platonic solid?
The moniker is fun to play with. But its owner is even better. Sadly, I cannot give an informed verdict on the buns.
