Muses are weird little creatures.

Everyone seems to have different ways to deal with stress. I know my thoughts tend to skate off whatever I'm meant to be doing, and retreat somewhere where it's safe.

I started writing Ivory at the moment when I thought I'd go crazy from all the stress: the last two months of upper secondary, that is.

Of course, it was just an excuse to slack off.

Trivia for aujourd'hui, to exercise zhose little grey cells:

David Suchet is, for many (including me), the definitive actor to play Hercule Poirot, Agatha Christie's fussy little Belgian detective.

It was interesting to find out today that his first appearance in a Poirot adaptation was as Chief Inspector Japp(!), in the 1982 version of Evil Under the Sun starring Peter Ustinov as Poirot. I remember not getting along at all with Ustinov's portrayal; of course, by the time I saw him I'd already seen the Suchet version, who's so parfait.

I think we need a campy 1930s mystery board! What ho, Jeeves!

*complains loudly*

Bandmate taped that on BBC3 last night. So we watch it on Friday and the real thing on Saturday. Whee! *is quite aware is a pathetic specimen of humanhood, thank you* *nevertheless, is likely to (attempt to) memorise Bosnian lyrics*

Savaraka tika taka bija baja buf!

Hano, hajde, de,
Zar ti o?i ne vide?
Zar ti duša ne sluša
Kad kažem da volim te?

And, for the animal lovers, Slen shall now sing Spain's 2003 entry: "Só mais umaa vez..."

Er... No.

I may sing Northern Girl by Prime Minister (Last year, can't remember which country).

Or possibly MMMBop by Hanson, say the people looking over my shoulder. This is the fault of whoever was playing with my iPod earlier today. NOT MY FAULT.

Let's have a chorus of Sanomi, Mutt! We love Urban Trad! (Enough Eurovision. --Ed)

Oh thank gods we didn't make it to the finals. :D saves the country some humiliation - every year everyone's so sure that *this* time we'll win - and then we always end up the worst of the worst and get kicked out for the next year.

Not to mention, Jari Sillanpää?! Oh sweet kajeebus. O.o *Still bitter about not having Nightwish in there some years ago.*

*giggles at Slen's shoulder-people* I liked Hanson. They could actually harmonise. I was less keen on the well-sugared happiness but eh.

*Gapes.*

It downloads at an alleged 329 kb/s.
