Ohhhh, and if anyone wants Girl Scout Cookies .... I've got a living room full of them. Silly me, I had no idea 12 7 year old girls could sell sooo many cookies when I signed on to be The Cookie Momster. Seriously. They've sold THOUSANDS of boxes and said boxes are currently IN MY LIVING ROOM. It's a little scary.....

Just popping in to say hi.
Hurricane Ike came to visit last week, but we are all okay. I have a new Hurricane-installed skylight in my roof now, and evidently we had too many trees and too much fencing around our property, so Ike took care of those too. He even blew the roof off Stephanie's playhouse. The power has been out ever since and we will remain in the dark for a while due to all the damaged lines and poles.

The power came back on last Thursday at the office, so whoohoo, I get to live the civilized life for a few hours every day at least. We are going back to our roots at home - openin' winders to catch a breeze, washing clothes by hand and makin' sun tea. Seriously, there were a few days there where I would have KILLED for a piece of ice. I'm so tired of drinking room temperature water and sodas and hot tea. And batteries .... rofl .... ice and batteries and MRE's are the new post-disaster currency.

Yikes! I'm glad you're all ok, Sarina. Puts my whining about our non-functional boiler in perspective.

Hurricane update!

One month later and I still have a big honkin' hole in my house and no fences around it. The power was out for 14 1/2 days (but who's counting???), and I still have an uncontrollable urge to applaud every time I see a power truck in the neighborhood.

We did actually have an insurance adjuster appear at our house last week. She walked around with a tape measure and nodded a lot and made notes on a clipboard and then she went away. Oh yeah, and she looked at my 4 page list of ruined groceries from the refrigerator and freezer and told me we had too much food in the house. *blink, blink, blink* I am not holding my breath expecting any huge check to arrive in the mail for the damages. We've had 3 estimates from roofers, each one more frightening than the last. And we won't even begin to discuss the fence estimates. Evidently, privacy fences are now being gold plated, or so it would seem by these numbers! :-)

On a happier, non-disaster note, the princess is going as Bat Girl for halloween this year. hehehe. Her dad found her this costume....it's priceless! Utility belt, gauntlets and even shoe covers that look like boots - It's a hoot!

I ran into a blank page a couple of times when hitting the bookmark link habitually, but I don't have withdrawal symptoms...

Hey, wasn't sure where to post this, but I've just finished tweaking my Twine stuff (I think I may need some help with headings and stuff though...), and now I'm not sure what to do. Should I just send Caedis to hang out at the Cross'd Roads, or is there something else that you would recommend?

That would be as fine a place as any to start. :) Let me know if you want me to set the scene and/or plop one of my characters there for him to talk to.

Headings are

note the spaces. More equal signs produce lower level headings.

For a table of contents, add the tag <toc> at the top, and add a # to the headings you want to show up in it, like so: == # Heading ==

Generally I look for a page that uses formatting I want, and copy it. :)

Or refer to the help page here - I'll add some bits about headings to that later today, as I see they are indeed missing. (edit: done)

Ha. I was just typing up a lengthy article on the Magic used on Caedis' world Xerxes, when Internet Explorer had a fit and closed itself mid-sentence. I lost about an hour's work and my response was to stare balnkly at the screen for ten minutes or so. Teach me to not save my work...

I almost wish I had a keylogger on my computer so I could at least get some of it back...
Unfortunatly my anti-virus kills such things. I wonder if you can get keyloggers for personal use, such as data recovery and spying on family members, etc.

By the way, I just wanted to ask if the Inn is currently empty, or is the previous story arc still in progress? Will Caedis and Cyrand walk into an empty building, or will Suitov be waiting (as the owner of such a fine establishment)?
