He just wants the attentions of two cute/psychotic nursemaids; admit it. *runs off*

Hm, yes, I think calling Weft a cute maid is a good reason to run.

Sylvie would like to know what's psychotic about her, and may be offended, but she's less murderous...

Snog, since Fochsie is disappearing for a while like Weft is, shall we co-op a quick "Bye" "Ok, bye" post?

Surely.

Afterthought to yesterday's perceived age musings:
Due to the nature of Eodean elves, Sylvie should assume Sebastian to be over 500 years old, if she thought about it. *blink*

If Weft's ears had been pointed, I dread to imagine what she'd guess his age to be. XD

Elves have funny haircolours sometimes ;)
Hm, maybe between 400 and 500 - rule of the thumb is that they are older the taller they are. Or over 500, but Sebbie being up to 2 centuries older than Weft.

Meet Grey. :-)

He speaks English, and only English.

Someone needs to get Suitov a timeturner for Christmas. Or at least a Polaroid camera XD

Are you tired of the magic-talk yet?

(*ramble*
Seems like Shade magic is Eodean elementarism minus the zooming in, and Eodean magic covers Shade magic and psionics put together, at least.

Of course now Sylvie is assuming Suitov could build that ward you just wrote he thought is not possible (yet); yey for misconceptions about 'im. *blinks* I think she's listening with too much interest now to have her as scatterbrained as before; I'll need to figure out what she's thinking of his abilities now exactly... Messing with people's thoughts is more difficult than telepathy, which is in the same field, so she'd at the very least suspect he's a mindreader. *blinks some more*

Meanwhile the lizard wants to bite Lottir. Hasn't got a pigeon's brain, but two of them, so he's potentially twice as silly...

One slight misunderstanding (implying he could build it but doesn't want to) was deliberate on his part.

Nevar! XD
This is early in Shade magic technology - which is far less discliplined than Sylvie's/Eodean in general, from what I understand of Eodean stuff.

Shade is just getting out of the Newtonian alchemy stage of "we know cool thing Y happens if we do X, but we don't know why and we think it's caused by water memory/imps/invisible light".

The psi in the wards, incidentally, isn't Shade's native kind. No wonder he couldn't have written those components himself.

Suitov is wrong about Shade telepathy-psionics being incompatible with magic. But it takes them four decades or more to prove him wrong.

Suitov: [Ayu-Asra]'s welcome to bite Lotsi [the troll], by the way.
Ankewehner: Did you guess that in his little brain it's a fight for dominance?
Suitov: Yes, I got that he was all "ha, scared of me! Press my advantage!"
Ankewehner: I was about to ask how good his reflexes were.
Ankewehner: good *smiley*
Suitov: Good enough that he'll control himself from picking up someone else's pet and throwing it across the room with a trollish war cry.
Suitov: He's rather mellowed out in his late middle age.
Ankewehner: how does he know it's a pet and not some weird kind of vermin?
Suitov: He doesn't. It's just that it's really reminding him of his daughters' evil-eyed bird.
Ankewehner: XD
Ankewehner: "reminds me of vindictive beast. I must slap" - the logic escapes me.
Suitov: Which, by the way, I think was some kind of corvid because it mimicked speech, so A-A's jaylike cry probably helped reinforce it.
Ankewehner: I think I'll save the Inn post for tomorrow, though.
Suitov: "Reminds me of pet. Must train it not to bite."
Ankewehner: /me ponders
Suitov: (The talking-bird never obeyed him either.)

NTS: Wait for Ree to post, at least inside the Inn.

(also, thanks :-))

So, if I have jammed this, should I try to unjam it by posting something else?

One unjamming postywost, 'cause I'm bored of waiting for the indoors characters. ;p

Incidentally, how big does that thing look at the moment?

This size, slightly flatter in shape, plus tendrils. The whole of it is faintly visible in daylight and a translucent, whitish blue colour.

I just noticed I said above, OOCly, that the wards run on a different psionic framework from Shade's native kind...

Well, forget that. It's Shaded telepathy (or basically the same system - maybe adapted to work with a wider variety of aliens) hybridised with magic. I'm making use of the inn's out-of-timeline, vaguely-non-canon status to let me decide thus...

I realise this doesn't actually matter to anyone but me, but I need to keep these things straight in my head. *grins*
