So, what does Jaina have against Weft? (no, "nothing that helps" is no valid answer :P)

Jaina thinks Weft stabbed Lance (who is her friend).

But here's what really happened. (I cringe at some of the mistakes I made writing Weft back then - I hadn't developed him into the neurotic piece of work he is today. *g*)

After that, Tim Cerhnsson the sidhe came across the sleeping Lance and hacked at his wing because he's sadistic and Lance was snoring or something.
Weft pulled out a twinstar dagger or similar and threatened Tim with it.
(Cerhn actually made a mistake and thought Lance was sleeping in the bar room. We kind of fudged it so that he was near the open door to a store room, which is where Lance and Weft were 'meditating' snigger snigger.)
So I think Weft was warning Tim off - Lance, meanwhile, had woken up and started having a flashback because of the injury to his wing.
JJ found Weft in an obviously weapons-ready posture, Lance bleeding and distressed, and flipped out - I think she tried to 'port herself and Lance to safety, and caught Weft up in it too.
They ended up out in the gardens where Suitov and Katai were studying a strange thing - what looked like the remnant of a world aperture. Katai spazzed out when Suitov suggested experimenting with it, then Pasht turned up and said "What, you mean like THIS?" and metaphysically yanked the thing.

Snog, re password: it's possible I never sent you the updated one. I do remember not having a working email addy for you and Candy for a while.

Come to think of it, I still don't know if the one I have for Candy works...

I'd hate to think she's missing out on the excitement-packed Chronicles of Profusington. *g*

Usual confusion on my side: Suitov, Skerv, Sylvie, Jaina in the kitchen, Lance in the main room? Or is Lance listening in to the conversation?

The last place we left Lance was sitting at a table.

Jaina has just whipped his plate from in front of him (assuming he'd finished with it) and made off into the kitchen, so he might follow, but since it'd be unethical to move someone's character without permission we'll have to assume he's still sitting at the table. *g*

It's a few steps from bar room to kitchen, so if he's sitting out there he wouldn't overhear unless it was loud.

I know from experience that writing mute creatures is harder than it looks. You're doing fine as far as I'm concerned.
